Papa's House

We went yesterday to my dad's house in Lacey. Sydney always has a great time at Papa's house. I didn't take many pictures because my camera battery was dying. Which reminds me that I need to recharge it NOW. We had a good time...my grandparents are staying with my dad temporarily until my grandmother's hip heals. It is always a great pleasure to see them and I love to sit and chit chat with them while I am there. I found my nephew Benjamin chattin' up my grandmother a few times and it was really very sweet and very cute to see. They love their great grandma and great papa. It was both Michael's (my dad's girlfriend) granddaughter's (Grace and Audrey) birthdays that were celebrated and it was a good time for all. I love to wander through Michael's garden and look at all her plants...I have plant envy. I just can't make my garden look as good as she can. I have to quit taking all the neighbors refugees and figure out what I want my garden to look like. I might even attempt it today... :). Here are some pictures from the day. Sydney's favorite spot at my dad's is in the sand/dirt pile...as you can tell.

Summer is here!!!

It's been really beautiful here the last couple of weeks and we are taking every advantage possible to enjoy the hot weather. Here are a few pictures of the girl in the backyard pool (as you can tell we spared no expense on this pool). She loves it and it's an easy way for her to cool down a bit. I wish that there was a pool around here like the one we grew up with in Normandy Park. Summers spent at Olympic View as a kid were the BEST!

Bike Ride!

I have wanted to start a family blog for some time and with the busy season of summer it seems like the best way to keep people informed on what is happening in the Garonzik household. Our new adventure is bike riding. We have been doing it for a few weeks now and yesterday we helped my mom buy a bike in the morning. Then in the afternoon we packed everyone up (Jed, me, Sydney & Judy (my mom) and off we went with a late afternoon bike ride. We rode about 2 1/2 miles on the Foothills Trail from McMillan to Orting, stopped at the Orting Starbucks for a break and some Java and then headed back 2 1/2 miles to the car. The ride was a bit aggressive for my mom's first ride in years, but we all had a good time. I took a few pictures, but not nearly enough...I have to take the camera with us more often. Last Thursday we rode 10 1/2 miles from Auburn to Kent & back on the Interurban Trail with Jami (Jed's sister), Mike, Madison & Zach. Afterwards we went to the Tapps Island golf course for some dinner with a beautiful view of Mt. Rainer and Lake Tapps. We love living close to the lake!
